The collection consists of diaries, correspondence, bookeeping records, photographs, portraits and other miscellaneous items of W.E. Jackson and his sons, Herbert G. Jackson and Loren E. Jackson, and his daughter, Helen M. Jackson. Also included are photographs about Irving School and the educational and diplomas of various members of the Jackson Family.

William Emsley Jackson left Illinois with his parents and came West in 1873, settling first in the Grand Ronde valley of eastern Oregon. He returned to Plymouth, IL in 1876 to continue his education, and after teaching in Illinois, returned to accept a teaching position at Dayton, Washington Territory in 1880.
